LCA's Admissions Process

Lucas Christian Academy is organized around the foundational premise that meaningful and positive parental mentoring makes the biggest difference in a child’s education. Thus, admission into LCA is a deliberate and intentional process designed to thoroughly inform the interested parents.

LCA’s Admissions Meetings

We are currenlty completing our 2nd Cycle of Admissions for families who attended the Admissions Meeting on March 26th. If you are interested in applying to LCA, and did not attend the meeting, please contact our Admissions Coordinator, Kristi Chalemin at: kchalemin@lucaschristianacademy.com for more information.

Attending an Admissions Meeting is the first required step in the process of admissions. You will get to meet our Head of School as well as other leadership to hear their heart for ministry and their vision for excellence. You will have a tour of the school and then attend a break-out session with our Elementary Director or Secondary Director depending on the grades you are interested in.

Complete an online application by creating an account HERE. Be sure to verify your email address by opening the email sent to you after creating your account. Applications are only accepted during each admission cycle’s acceptance timeframe. All applicants must have attended an Admissions Meeting within the last year.

Preschool – LCA does not require incoming PK4 students to complete a placement test.

Kindergarten – 2nd Grade –  Thirty-minute, individual evaluations are administered on a one-on-one basis at the LCA campus by a Kinder or 1st Grade LCA Teacher. These evaluations are scheduled by the Elementary Department after completing the online application. Click on the links below to access study guides.

3rd- 6th Grade –  Students applying to these grades will submit the most recent standardized testing. This includes tests such as: MAP, STAAR, Terra Nova and the Iowa Test. If a student does not have standardized testing, they will take the proctored ISEE At Home Test. Instructions for the ISEE Test are given at the Admissions Meeting. The Elementary Coordinator will send out a Writing Sample, via email, to be completed at home by ALL applicants.

7th- 12th Grade –  All students applying for these grades will come to LCA on the designated day to complete a Math Skills Test and Writing Sample. This will be a 3-hour test, in a group setting, with a break and snack in the middle of the time. Secondary students will meet with the Academic Advisor once a student is approved for Placement Testing. Our Academic Advisor will reach out to you to schedule this meeting.

Family Interviews will be offered from the Admissions Committee after reviewing a family’s completed file. If all requirements are met and a good partnership seems possible, then you will be contacted by the Admissions Coordinator to schedule an interview with 2 of our wonderful staff.

The Admissions Committee prayerfully considers every family who applies. Every family will receive an email communicating the decision of the committee.
